The usual lead magnet setup leaks in two directions. The file sits at a public URL
that anyone can share, so your gate collects nothing; and the addresses you do collect are unverified,
so a chunk of your list does not exist.
Websel Download Gate fixes both. The visitor submits an address, receives a code, and only then is
the file released — through an endpoint that checks entitlement rather than a URL that anyone can
pass around. Every release is logged with the address, the timestamp and the consent text shown at
the time.
Why the log matters
If someone later asks how you obtained their address, “they downloaded our guide” is not an answer.
